Bill Plant Driving School and Ogilvie Fleet have celebrated the delivery of its 1,000th vehicle, marking a key milestone in a long-standing partnership that continues to grow year-on-year.
The partnership, which began in 2018, supports the delivery and management of a nationwide fleet of dual-control vehicles for one of the UK’s largest driving school networks. The milestone was reached earlier this year and the fleet size has now surpassed 1,200 vehicles.
Headquartered in Ripon, Bill Plant Driving School operates across the UK with hundreds of professional qualified driving instructors with some of the UK’s highest pass rates. The business supports tens of thousands of learner drivers each year and operates a large fleet of modern instructor vehicles made up of Volkswagen Golf, T-Cross and T-Roc.
Ogilvie Fleet plays a central role in supporting this operation, managing vehicle supply, registration, maintenance and compliance, as well as coordinating the installation of dual controls through third-party providers. The partnership also involves close collaboration on vehicle selection, OEM engagement and supply chain management to ensure consistent vehicle availability across the UK.
Given the nature of its business, driver instructor vehicles typically cover significantly higher mileage than standard company cars and are subject to more intensive usage. As a result, selecting the right vehicles is critical, and Ogilvie ensures that comprehensive maintenance support is given to keep vehicles on the road and minimise downtime for instructors.
The milestone reflects the continued growth of Bill Plant Driving School and the increasing scale of its fleet requirements, with Ogilvie providing a tailored solution to support both operational efficiency and instructor needs.
Matt Thomas, Fleet Director at Bill Plant Driving School, said: “We’ve built a strong, collaborative relationship with Ogilvie since 2018 and the personal approach really sets them apart. They play a key role in helping us manage the day-to-day running of our fleet and ensuring we have the vehicles we need, when we need them.”
Trish Halford, Special Sectors Development Manager at Ogilvie Fleet, added: “Reaching 1,000 vehicles is a significant milestone and reflects the strength of our partnership. We’ve worked closely with the Bill Plant team to deliver a solution that supports their instructors nationwide, and we’re proud to play a part in their continued growth.”
