The latest yearly report of used car sales in the UK has been published by credit information providers Experian.
According to the report the Ford Fiesta has overtaken last year's best selling used car, the Vauxhall Corsa. Another 286,000 used car loan buyers are now proud Fiesta owners. The Corsa came a close second with 278,000 sales in 2010.
Ford and Vauxhall dominated the top five spots on the list. In third place was another Vauxhall, the Astra, with sales of 271,412. Fourth place was taken by another Ford, the Focus, with 259,355 sales.
The number five position was taken by the VW Golf, with used car loan sales of just under 200,000.
The Experian report also lists the top sellers in each of the most important market categories. In the sports car category, the Mazda MX-5 came out top. The most popular used car in the 4x4 category was the Landrover Freelander and in the most popular hybrid car was a Toyota Prius.
The BMW 3 series turned out to be very popular cars indeed. Not only did they generate the highest sales in the Upper Medium category, but they also came sixth in terms of overall sales with 176,116 units being sold during 2010. Source - www.creditplus.co.uk - Author, Louise Hutchinson
