The New BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo

BMW has added a new model to the BMW 3-series line-up. The new 3 series GT follows the same principle of the larger 5-series GT. It is longer, wider and taller than the 3-series Touring on which it is based. BMW claims the 3-series GT has the dynamics of the 3-series saloon with the practicality of the 3-series Touring and the looks of a coupé. The five-seat 3-series GT will be offered with five engines from launch, including a 302bhp 335i range-topper, and the likely best-seller, the 320d. It is set to go on sale in the UK in late spring, priced at around £1500 more than an equivalent 3-series Touring model.

BMW 3 Series saloon production to end in October

Production of the current 3 Series Saloon will be ending in week 43 (17th-21st October). There is still some stock available but this will be handled by BMW on a first come first served basis. If you have any requirements for the 3 Series please contact your Area Manager as soon as possible as the replacement model isn't expected until the New Year. Details of the replacement model are yet to be officially announced but rumours suggest that the S, SE and M Sport names will be replaced by Sport Line, Modern Line and Luxury Line.

BMW 5-Series Hybrid

BMW’s hybrid saloon will be available from 2011 and it promises up to ten per cent reduction in emissions and fuel consumption over the already impressive model.

A 3.0-litre petrol engine combines with an electric motor to power the luxury saloon, which boasts outstanding comfort and refinement on the road.

It will boast all the luxury expected from a BMW, but boot space will be reduced slightly to make way for that 40kW lithium-ion battery pack.

BMW has made a name for some incredible diesel CO2 emissions, and it looks like hybrid models will be next on the agenda, starting with the 5-Series.
