Ogilvie Fleet’s industry-leading online reporting tool, MiFleet Showroom 2, has won a top award for an unprecedented third year in a row!

Our position as the number one contract hire and leasing company for providing the most technologically advanced and sophisticated online solutions to customers, has been further underpinned with victory in this year’s BusinessCar Fleet Technology Awards - known in the industry as the ‘Techies’. The latest award has made it a hat-trick of wins in the Leasing and Contract Hire category as a result of making further significant enhancements to MiFleet Showroom 2.

The latest developments focus on delivering efficient management of the so-called ‘grey fleet’ - employees that drive their own cars on business trips.

Paul Barker, editor of the trade publication, said: “Ogilvie Fleet’s victory in the Leasing and Contract Hire category for the third year in a row completes an unprecedented and deserved hat-trick of BusinessCar Techies, having triumphed in 2013 and 2014 before again retaining the award in 2015.

“MiFleet Showroom 2 is a bright, easy and effective system giving easy vehicle reporting, as well as incredibly handy grey fleet control, and Ogilvie Fleet makes the system open to fleets that don’t lease all their vehicles through the firm, another key point in its favour.”

Fleet decision-makers are able to view their ‘grey fleet’ alongside their corporate fleet so as to remain loyal to the MiFleet principle of “view your entire fleet on a single page”. Via the established red, amber and green traffic light system it identifies minute-by-minute by exception, vehicles that require ‘action now’, ‘action soon’ or ‘no action’.

Drill down into the ‘grey fleet screen’ and drivers using their own vehicle on business trips are able to upload scanned copies of their documents - insurance, Vehicle Excise Duty, evidence of the last vehicle service and MoT if applicable - via a unique and secure log-in process.

The results are then displayed concisely on screen so a fleet decision-maker can immediately identify where they have a risk exposure issue. Dedicated reports are also accessible to see any items that are ‘overdue’, ‘due’ or ‘not due’. Alongside ‘grey fleet’ details, fleet decision-makers are also able to view employees’ driving licence details by the number of points on their licences.

Access another layer and fleet decision-makers can see by make, model and registration of vehicle and driver’s name those who are affected by the warnings previously highlighted and then take the required action.

Nick Hardy, sales and marketing director, Ogilvie Fleet, said: “Whether employees drive a company vehicle or a privately-owned vehicle on business, they need to be managed effectively and within the law - employers have a legal duty of care for staff who drive their own cars on work-related journeys.

“That means clients need to have the identical focus on grey fleet management as they do on company car and commercial vehicle management, which we provide through MiFleet Showroom 2". “We are naturally delighted to retain the Award which shows that Ogilvie Fleet continues to lead the vehicle leasing sector in delivering solutions to customers at the cutting edge of fleet management.” MiFleet Showroom was launched in July 2011. Critically, it is available free of charge to all fleet customers - irrespective of size and the number of vehicles leased via Ogilvie Fleet.

Ogilvie Fleet has won many industry awards over the last five years with success reflected in an ever-growing customer base. The BusinessCar Techies are the fleet industry’s only technology-specific awards designed to reward those companies whose clever use of technology makes business car fleet operation easier, cheaper, cleaner, safer and more straightforward. Now in their seventh year, the Techies are judged by both BusinessCar’s expert and experienced editorial panel with help from a technology expert at UK research laboratory TRL, and cover all the major sectors of the corporate marketplace.
