Double technology award win for Ogilvie Fleet

Ogilvie Fleet notched double top in this year’s fleet industry ‘Techies’ – the annual awards that recognise the fleet industry’s technology-specific products and services across all areas of the business car market.

Ogilvie Fleet won the Leasing and Contract Hire Award for the fourth time in the past five years for the continued evolution of its MiFleet Showroom online reporting tool, and the Best App for its ‘Happy Drivers App’, which is available to the industry at large, not just company car and van drivers and fleet managers that are customers.

The two awards further cement Ogilvie Fleet’s position as the number one contract hire and leasing company for providing the most technologically advanced and sophisticated management and information solutions to customers.

Now operating a fleet of more than 15,000 company cars and light commercial vehicles, the Fleet Technology Awards – known in the industry as the ‘Techies – saw MiFleet Showroom “win by a landslide”, according to Awards organiser, trade publication BusinessCar.

  – Recognising the continuing evolution of MiFleet Showroom, which is available free of charge to all fleet customers – irrespective of size and the number of vehicles leased via Ogilvie Fleet and delivers a view of “your fleet on a single page”, the latest enhancements are:

  – Driver licence validation for both company car and grey fleet drivers: check frequency is decided by each client on an individual driver basis; warning lights identify drivers according to the number of points they have – green (0 points), amber (1-6) and red (7 or more) – enabling targeted action to be taken.

A new grey fleet section: fleet managers can see at a glance the current status of documentation and send reminders if requiried. Information is displayed on last vehicle service and when next is due; date of any MoT; proof a vehicle has a valid Road Fund Licence and is correctly insured; and driver licence information. Employees can log in via a secure website, check currennt information status and upload any relevant documentation.

The award judges highlighted the importance of MiFleet Showroom being available free of charge to all fleet customers, unlike some competitors that priced equivalent systems according to how big a fleet was.

Numerous suppliers to the fleet market have developed apps but, said BusinessCar, Ogilvie Fleet won the Best App Award because “the benefits of the app go well beyond just those for its own customers, and most competitor apps are only accessible via a personal security login for their own clients”.

When users launch the app for the first time they are asked whether they are an Ogilvie Fleet customer. Depending on their selection, the content is then personalised for that driver.

The raft of information available is designed to keep drivers on the road, direct them to key locations, provides emergency contact details, driving tips, a vehicle wear and tear checklist, advice on what to do in an emergency including in the event of an accident, information on Vehicle Excise Duty, MoT and tyre, battery and exhaust replacement, service booking, taking a car overseas. Even more specific information is then also to be available to Ogilvie Fleet drivers including date of last service and date of next, CO2 value, engine type and CC and all benefit-in-kind tax details.

The Awards are in their ninth year and the magazine’s editor Debbie Wood said: “This isn’t the first time that Ogilvie Fleet’s MiFleet Showroom has claimed top spot in our ‘Techies’ Awards, and some key new features and developments gave it the edge again in 2017. “As well as winning in the Contract Hire and Leasing category, Ogilvie Fleet also picked up a ‘Techie’ for its ‘Happy Drivers’ app, a really handy and innovative application that we all felt stood out in what was a very competitive category this year. Impressive stuff from the team at Ogilvie once again.”
