Below is a note we have received from Nissan regarding the impact that the earthquake in Japan has had on their UK operations:
"Nissan has been assessing the impact and planning for any disruption to its overseas manufacturing, as a result of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Despite an unavoidable interruption to production schedules, Nissan is wholly-focused on minimising any impact on customers and staff throughout this period, and every effort is being made to return to normal operation as quickly as possible.
However, due to an interruption to the normal supply of components, the Sunderland Plant will introduce three non-production days into its schedule over the Easter holiday period from 26th – 28th April.
Nissan’s intention is to fully recover all deferred production volume as a result of this action as quickly as possible, once the normal supply of parts has been re-established. All April deliveries are expected to remain unaffected by this action.
It is currently not possible to provide details how this will affect individual orders in future months. However, please be assured we will prioritise and supply customer sold orders within the shortest possible time frame. It is therefore essential you liaise with your supplying dealer on a regular basis for the latest supply situation.
It is our intention to keep you informed of any future developments at the earliest possible opportunity."
