DeLorean have confirmed that they will begin production of new DMC-12’s, the car made famous by the ‘Back to the Future’ movies. There’s no mention of whether the new cars will be powered by waste food or plutonium but we think it’s more likely that they will be fueled by a traditional petrol engine.

The Texas based Delorean Motor Company has been supplying parts, rebuilding or restoring DMC-12’s for a number of years, but thanks to a change in US regulations which will allow low-volume replicas of cars that are 25 years or older.

Past rumours on the internet indicated new vehicles will be electric powered but newer stories suggest the new cars will receive a 300-400 bhp petrol version.

For more information or simply to look at photos of the DMC-12 visit the DeLorean website.
