Supporting local & national causes
We may be a commercial entity, but we consider ourselves as an integral part of a wider community and as thus, strive to support a number of worthwhile causes throughout the UK.
One worthy cause is BEN – a dedicated charity for those who work, or have worked, in the automotive industry and their dependents. BEN offers a range of support services: from practical, emotional or financial; to day, nursing and residential care for the elderly. For full details of the great work that BEN carry out, please visit www.ben.org.uk
Ogilvie also support many more charities through the ‘Give As You Earn’ scheme, which deducts regular donations from employees that opt into the scheme. On an annual basis, our Charity Committee select several charities from the staff’s preferred list to donate to. Last year the scheme made donations to:
“The Dyspraxia Foundation is a nationwide charity, founded in 1987 as the Dyspraxia Trust by two mothers who met at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children. After being told that their children had Dyspraxia they were astonished and dismayed to discover that no facilities existed to help or inform parents and children with the condition. They decided to form their own group to help others to help themselves”
“Scottish Autism is an organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of people with autism.
We are the largest provider of autism-specific services in Scotland and a leading authority and advocate for good autism practice. We exist to help those diagnosed with autism to lead full and enriched lives and become valuable members of the community they live in. We also seek to share our knowledge and expertise with parents, carers and other professionals in order to support the development of skills and strategies needed to provide the best care and support for people with autism.”
“Home-Start supports families from all sectors of the community and for many varied reasons. Volunteers support families (who have at least one child under five),in their own home. We offer a flexible approach, which can hopefully meet the individual needs of each family.”
